Kristin Cavallari is very happy to be in a different place.
While looking back at her time filming her E! series Very Cavallari with ex-husband Jay Cutler, the reality star recalled how the stress of their crumbling marriage took a toll on her body.
"I was very thin," Kristin said on the June 11 episode of her podcast Let's Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari. "I'll put it in perspective for you guys: I'm 5'3". I currently weigh 114 pounds. Filming Very Cavallari, I got down to 102 and I was eating the same amount of food that I'm eating now. The difference was I was so unhappy and so stressed out."
And the 37-year-old expressed how it isn't easy for her to see throwback photos of herself from that time.
"I look back at photos from that time period, and I am like, 'Holy s--t!'" she continued. "I was rail f--king thin. I was skin and bones. I looked like s--t. I think I look so much better now. And you guys, that was just stress. That was being in a really unhappy marriage."
Kristin—who shares kids Camden, 11; Jaxon, 10; and Saylor, 8, with the former quarterback—also remembered having "way too much" on her plate. "I was so unhappy that I was just trying to max out," she added. "But I also wasn't lifting heavy weights like I am now, too. But that was stress. But now, I'm just taking care of myself in so many more ways too."
For the Laguna Beach alum, this includes building more muscle. Kristin said she works out four to five days a week, including exercising with a trainer once a week and then lifting weights on her own the other days.
"I think with the gym, it's consistency," she said. "It's just showing up for yourself. And listen, if I'm really busy and I only work out two to three times a week, fine. I used to get mad at myself, and I would feel guilty and it was just like, ugh, a really horrible way of living. Where now, I'm like, 'OK, I just needed a little bit more rest this week.' I actually think rest is just as important, too."
Kristin and Jay announced their breakup and end of Very Cavallari in 2020. And The Hills star shared she has no regrets about the decision.
"The scariest thing I've ever done is get a divorce," she said the School of Greatness podcast in 2022. "But it's the best thing I've ever done, and that has really jump-started my journey on self-love and who I am now."
Today, Kristin is in a new relationship with Montana Boyz member Mark Estes. To see photos of their romance, keep reading.
Kristin Cavallari debuted her romance with Mark Estes in February 2024, captioning this photo of the couple, "He makes me happy."
"Photo dump of my girl and I," Mark wrote on Instagram March 2024.
Among the snaps included a picture of the pair sharing a rooftop kiss.
The Hills alum got cozy with her man.
Mark wrapped his arms around the Kristin during a night out on the town.
