The cause of death for Thomas Kingston, a financier and Lady Gabriella Kingston's husband, has been announced.
The British royal family member's provisional cause of death was determined to be due to "a traumatic head wound," an English coroner revealed in a judicial inquiry on Friday, according to The Guardian and the BBC.
Per The Guardian, 45-year-old financier was found Sunday in a locked building at his parents' Cotswolds residence in Gloucestershire on Sunday evening, and a gun was present at the scene, Gloucestershire's senior coroner, Katy Skerrett, told the inquest.
Gloucestershire is 100 miles west of London.
Kingston ate lunch with his parents, and after his father went out to walk the dog, Kingston was nowhere to be found. After 30 minutes, his mother went to look for him, Skerrett said.
"His father forced entry on a locked outbuilding when no reply could be gained," Skerrett said during the inquiry, according to The Guardian. "He found Mr. Kingston deceased with a catastrophic head injury."
The coroner continued: "A gun was present at the scene. Emergency services were called. Police are satisfied the death is not suspicious."

King Charles and Queen Camilla later shared their own statement on Kingston's death.
"The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family," a statement from a Buckingham Palace spokesperson reads, according to People. "In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family."
Kingston's passing was initially shared without details, with the palace stating no suspicious circumstances were suspected.
Kingston and Lady Gabriella Windsor were married at Windsor Castle's St. George's Chapel on May 18, 2019, with guests including the queen and her husband, Prince Phillip, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton.
